Monday Food Funnies
So this morning, one of my co-workers sent this to everyone:
He called the Popeye's near work, and confirmed that it's legit.
Following that, a few minutes ago another guy (who is Trinidadian, which becomes an important point in two sentences) came by saying, "Man, I'd have thought you guys would be in line at Popeye's by now for sure!"
Some lame excuses about having brought lunch and early afternoon meetings ensued, until he cut us off with, "Well, that's probably better, cuz I'm surprised you can't see brown people lined up from here! You say free fried chicken, that'll cause a riot!!"
We went on to discuss how I actually prefer KFC, since if I'm going to eat badly, I'm not going to screw around.... and he brought up that apparently people are going to start thinking they're eating healthily at KFC, as their new ad campaign points out that they no longer use trans fats. Aside from the fact that lots of other foods have no trans fats, and that doesn't make them "healthy" (Doritos have "0 Trans Fats!", but are hardly comparable to an apple) that's still funny.
He then went on to metion some show he was watching with his brother, when the host suggested that to make sure you're "eating healthy", you should eat 7 different colours every day... to which his brother quipped, "How many people do you figure are heading out to buy Skittles right now?"
