Why do I seem to care so much about the Raptors?

Honestly, I'm not totally sure what the answer is.... but I'm pretty stoked about going to see them tonight with a chance, against the awful Celtics, to get to .500 later in the season that they have been in several years.

I imagine it has something to do with the fact that I actually attended the first ever draft that Raptors took part in, even being part of the people who lustily booed the Damon Stoudemire selection. Mostly becuase we had no idea who he was. Turns out it was a good call, mostly because the guy we all seemed to want was UCLA's Ed O'Bannon. Well, he's pretty much working in Wal-Mart these days. I guess that goes to chow how little we knew, as fans, at the time.

Of course, Vince Carter slammed the Raps' selection of Chris Bosh, and we can all see how that turned out.... so maybe a pick getting slammed isn't so bad after all...

PS: Congrats to CB4 for being voted a starter in the All-Star game... among those who didn't get voted in as starters? None other than Vince Carter himself. Air Canada? More like Captain Douchebag. Fuck Vince Carter and his lazy ass....
